Product Description
MP-ECC Soil EC Sensor is made of stainless steel, while using the electrode method to measure the soil conductivity. When the sensor is inserted into the soil, various ions present in the soil move directionally under the action of electric field, forming an electric current. Soil conductivity reflects the total concentration and mobility of ions in the soil. The electrode provides a path for the current to pass through. And the soil conductivity can be calculated by measuring the amount of the current passing through the soil at a certain voltage, combined with the geometry of the electrodes. The value of conductivity is closely related to the content of soluble salt in soil, the type and concentration of ions, etc., so that the salinity status of soil can be evaluated accordingly.
